SDCC News – SMALLVILLE Panel Brings Crazy News! Now With Better Video!
Written by Skott Stoland on 07/26/2010 – 8:24 AM -Smallville‘s about to start its tenth season. Do you realize how crazy that is? Fans of the show are going to have a lot to be excited about in this next and final season, though, if the Smallville panel at Comic Con was any indication.
First off, in this last season, we’ll see Clark fly and we’ll see the costume.
The suit is described as being a “slightly altered version of the one from Superman Returns.”
Remember that Blue Beetle test footage from last month? Well, it might not be for a Blue Beetle series after all. Geoff Johns revealed that he’s written a Blue and Gold episode. That’s right, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold! Beetle will be Jaime Reyes, but they did say he will have “a legacy” and that other Blue Beetles might show up in cameos. Expect Booster’s sidekick Skeets to accompany him, of course.
Batman and Wonder Woman, however, are off the table. That sucks, but at this point, as much as we were hoping to see them did we really think we would?
The Big Bad this season is the Really Big Bad, fucking Darkseid. He will, of course, be reworked to fit into the Smallville universe in much the same way that Doomsday was.
John Schneider’s going to be back, playing Jonathan Kent.
Micheal Rosenbaum, on the other hand, may or may not return. “The door is open” but they haven’t locked anything down yet.
Both Tom Welling and Justin Hartley will direct episodes this season.
They re-announced the news that Chloe Sullivan will finally be making DC Comics debut. Look for her in the Jimmy Olsen co-feature in Action Comics #892.
