ALL-STAR SUPERMAN To Join DC’s Animated DVD Line
Written by Skott Stoland on 07/27/2010 – 2:56 PM -All-Star Superman, easily the best Superman story of the last few decades and arguably the best ever, is set to join the ranks of DC’s fantastic straight-to-DVD animated features, according to the film’s writer, Dwayne McDuffie.
McDuffie, of course, was one of the main writers on JLU and is currently the showrunner on Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (as he was on Ben 10: Alien Force). He also wrote for Static Shock, as well as created the comic version of the character.
All-Star Superman is the only legitimately good thing to come from the All-Star brand, unless All-Star Batman and Robin The Boy Wonder really does turn out to be a comedy and not just hilariously bad. But legitimately good is an understatement, we’re talking about a book that summed up Superman’s origin in one page and eight words. If you haven’t read it, do it. Now. And when this movie comes out, watch the hell out of it.
