GREEN ARROW Joins The Ever Growing Group Of Superheroes TO Maybe Make It On TV

At this point there could probably be a Justice League made up solely of characters that took a run at getting on TV. Just recently, there were announcements of pilots for Booster Gold, The Spectre and Deadman. We all remember David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman fiasco and Aquaman’s failed pilot. Maybe Green Arrow will have better luck.

The show, titled simply Arrow, is from the same people that are making the Booster Gold pilot. Which means it’s also some of the same people that made the Green Lantern movie. The script is by Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim and it’s based on a story by Greg Berlanti and Guggenheim. Kreisberg has some awesome credits to his name. Berlanti and Guggenheim, not so much.

In case you’re wondering, no, Smallville‘s Justin Hartley is not going to be playing Ollie in this show. This may or may not be a good thing. Hartley was one of very few bright spots on that series which somehow lasted for ten seasons, but then Hartley was one of very few bright spots on that series which somehow lasted for ten seasons. It’s probably best to start over and not tie the new show to Smallville‘s insane and convoluted (read: idiotic) continuity.
