BATMAN 66 DVDs Are Finally Coming. Really.

It’s the Holy Grail (sorry) of geek TV and fans had pretty much given up hope that they’d ever see it – a DVD release of the Adam West Batman series. Even after last year saw West’s not-so-Dark Knight in a merchandising torrent, Warner Bros repeated the same story they’d told for years, that no collection of Batman 66 DVDs would be coming any time soon.

But now things have changed and the world is a bit better for it.

Announced via Conan O’Brien’s Twitter, for some reason, Batman 66 DVDs are on their way.

Very excited @WBHomeEnt is releasing the Batman ’66 Complete TV Series in 2014! The seat smells like Adam West: http://bit.ly/1d7IoFk

The news was quickly confirmed by TVShowsOnDVD.com, who contacted Warner Home Video.

At this point, we know, literally, nothing more than that the release is happening, but that won’t stop us from speculating and wishing about what the extras will be. If there’s no commentary from, at least, West and Ward then a huge opportunity was missed. The pair are still fantastically entertaining together.
