Everyone but the most hardcore detractors of Agents of SHIELD would agree that the series vastly improved in the last few episodes of the first season. When the show started to really tie into the films is when it finally found its footing. So it’s weird that that’s the moment the entire concept of the series had to fundamentally change.
Season two starts in a couple of weeks, and with it we’ll get our first real look at a post-SHIELD Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The new status quo with Coulson and his team on the run lends itself to interesting plotlines. It’ll be interesting to see how the season plays out.
Considering SHIELD was at its best when it tied into Captain America: The Winter Soldier I’m curious as to how they’re going to connect the show into the larger universe this season. Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man both come out next year. My money’s on an Avengers 2 connection, you know, since it comes out during May sweeps.
