Three words. Not even, really. Just two hash-tagged words and a number. That’s all Bryan Singer had to tweet today to announce his follow-up to the not-yet-released X-Men: Days of Future Past. But that small tweet seemed to have the same effect on damn near everyone who read it.

That was enough for numerous sites to surmise that the film would follow the story of 1995’s “Age of Apocalypse” crossover event.
It’s not impossible, given that Apocalypse (while being a big-name X-villain) doesn’t really have all that many interesting stories.* On the other hand, how likely is it that Singer is going to follow his weird alternate future time-travel X-Men movie with another one about an alternate universe ruled by a giant blue and grey dude with vague shape-shifting powers?
* – It’s pretty much this and the one where he cuts off Angel’s wings.
