No matter what your opinion of Mark Millar, his “real world super hero” epic Kick-Ass and the film adaptation of it, the red-band trailer for Kick-Ass 2 shows you’re in for more of exactly the same.
If you liked how the first film claimed it was more realistic than other comic book movies while having Chloe Grace Moretz’s Hit Girl reenact scenes from The Matrix, then you’ll be thrilled to see her aping moves from the Matrix sequels in Kick-Ass 2.
If, however, you thought the first one was (like everything sprung from Millar’s imagination) incredibly juvenile and trying way to hard to be exxxtreme!!!!! about a decade too late, then you won’t be at all shocked to see Jim Carrey doing an impression of someone who didn’t get that the Comedian isn’t really a hero in Watchmen.
Remember, this isn’t work-safe, having a character named “The Motherfucker” and all.
Ugh. Fuck this movie.
