Well, it looks like it’s time for the monthly addition to the cast of Zack Snyder’s still-not-officially-titled Batman vs Superman. Snyder, for some reason, steadfastly refuses to just admit this is the Justice League movie despite the fact that today’s announcement puts at least four members of the team in the film.
According to Variety, theatre actor Ray Fisher has been cast as Cyborg, or at least as Victor Stone, adding that “while not a major part in the Batman-Superman feature, [he] is a member of the Justice League, and the role will become much more significant role as Warner and DC develop more films related to the Justice League universe, sources confirm.”
Henry Cavill talked up the possibility of seeing the character on one of the Man of Steel DVD extras.
“What really intrigued me was Dr. Emil Hamilton’s connection to S.T.A.R. Labs. Cyborg I think would make a wonderful character and an incredible bridge between both superhumans and humanity in a different way to Batman. So I don’t know where he’s going to come in or if he’s going to come in, but that’s one I’m particularly excited about.”
The actor has very little in the way of screen credits, but recently finished a run on Broadway as Muhammad Ali in Fetch Clay, Make Man and was testing for a part in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.
Fisher’s Cyborg joins Cavill’s Superman, Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. Of course, there are still rumors swirling about Dwayne Johnson and Jason Mamoa, so who knows just how many heroes will be in this movie by the time it hits screens.
