HBO took the hype for last night’s True Detective season finale as an opportunity to promote next year’s adaptation of Michael Crichton’s 1973 film (and dry-run for Jurassic Park) Westworld. The excellent though very brief teaser gives an idea of what to expect from the series.
The show comes from Jonathan Nolan (Christopher’s brother/favorite writing partner) and Lisa Joy (Pushing Daisies, Burn Notice) and features one hell of a cast. Anthony Hopkins, Miranda Otto, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Rodrigo Santoro, and Ed Harris are all on board
If you’ve never seen the original, you really should. It concerns a theme park where things go wrong and the science project attractions (in this case robot cowboys) start killing guests. Like I said, dry-run for Jurassic Park.
Also, how great was the movie’s trailer?
