Paul Feig Shows Off The New GHOSTBUSTERS’ Gear

With Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot filming in Boston (standing in for NY) there have already been some spy photos leaked of the characters in their street clothes. It’s a safe bet that they’re about to start shooting some actual busting, as the director has taken to twitter to reveal the uniforms and proton packs our new team will be rocking.

And, honestly, I kind of love them.

The jumpsuits are a subtle update to those from the original films, with the addition of first responder-esque high-visibility stripes while keeping the classic no-ghost logo. The packs are really something I’m digging. They look like a prototype of the ones we’re familiar with. I always thought that the old ones looked too well-made, like something that was manufactured and not built by Egon with his limited resources, if that makes any sense at all.

I understand that the new Ghostbusters is more than a little divisive, with many fans furious that it’s even happening, but I’m excited about it. Feig’s making some great choices with casting, props and costumes. Literally, the only issue I have with it is that the movie could have been a soft reboot with the new team one of the franchises Venkman discussed way back in ’84.

Skott Stotland is a thousand monkeys in a people costume. They have been writing for the internet for over a decade.
