Birdman hasn’t really been on our radar here. Michael Keaton playing an actor whose previous role as a superhero defined him and now might be driving him insane just looked to self-deprecating in a bad way. “Remember that time I played Batman, yea that was ridiculous. What if I’d gone nuts afterwards?”
I may or may not still feel that way about the story after I see it, but the trailer, at least, has convinced me I should see it. So it’s done its job.
My god, that’s gorgeous. Is there anything at all that would lead you to believe that this is from the same director as Babel and 21 Grams?
