Josh Trank really needs to get moving on his Fantastic Four reboot. Set for a March 2015 release, the film is supposed to go in front of cameras this Summer. With this in mind, it’s surprising that it’s only now we’re hearing rumblings about casting. And those rumblings might not sit so well with some fans.
According to Deadline, Allison Williams (of the misogyny lightning rod Girls) is in talks to play Sue Storm. It’s yet to be seen if the vitriol spewed at that series will carry over to the comic messageboards, or if the complaints will all be about her hair color.
And speaking of color-based complaints…
This is Michael B. Jordan.
He was one of the stars of Trank’s previous superpowered film Chronicle, and according to The Wrap he might be the new Human Torch. Expect the same people that freaked out about Idris Elba as Heimdall and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and the mere possibility of Donald Glover as Spider-Man to lose their fucking shit once again. And before anyone says anything about Jordan and Williams and their obvious difference in complexions, it’s pretty common to adopt or take in a foster kid from outside your race, either one (or both) of them could be adopted.
