After endless months of rumors we finally know who’s going to be in the new Star Wars film. Well, we have a definitive list of names at least.
Disney and Lucasfilm announced via StarWars.com that,
Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.
Regarding the new cast members – Boyega you should recognize from Attack the Block (and by should, I mean if you haven’t seen it do so now), whereas Oscar Isaac was slightly less memorable in Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch. Adam Driver is best known for his role on HBO’s Girls and Domhnall Gleeson was Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter films. You should obviously know who Andy Serkis and Max von Sydow are. Daisy Ridley, however, is a complete mystery as her IMDB is a bit scant.
It had been rumored that the announcement would come this weekend on “Star Wars Day”, maybe there’s something more coming? Perhaps some idea of the characters they’re playing? In the meantime there’s this picture of the table read, which is totally not my new desktop.
