Finally, the Sharon Carter Rumor Mill can close up now. Anthony and Joe Russo (the mostly-sitcom directors taking over for Joe Johnston) have cast the hotly-debated role of Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Perhaps unsurprisingly, she hails from TV.
According to Deadline, Revenge star Emily VanCamp (also of Everwood and The Ring 2) snagged the part, which is being referred to as the female lead. Though everyone I know is more interested in Winter Soldier/Black Widow shippiness.
