We’ve known about the upcoming animated Addams Family movie for a while now, but the only information we really had was that Oscar Issac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) would be voicing Gomez (much to bittersweet disappointment/delight of fans who were hoping to see him play the character in a live-action reboot). This week, however, the rest of the cast was announced along with the first piece of art from the film.
Isaac’s Gomez will be joined by Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road) as Morticia, Bette Midler (Hocus Pocus) as Grandmama, Nick Kroll (Parks and Recreation) as Uncle Fester, ChloĆ« Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass) as Wednesday and Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) as Pugsly. Alison Janney (Mom) will be playing the villain, Margaux Needler, a reality TV makeover show host who is “consumed with a desire for absolute suburban pastel perfection.”
Sausage Party co-directors Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan will be directing from a script by Pamela Pettler (Corpse Bride) and Matt Lieberman (Dr Dolittle: Tail to the Chief). Lieberman will recieve sole credit, however.
The plot involves a family reunion and hopefully will be better than Addams Family Reunion with Tim Curry. We’ll find out October 11, 2019.
