NECA has announced their San Diego Comic Con exclusive for 2018 and oh my god they’re fantastic. As in previous years, it’s a set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures. This time they’re based on the 1990 film and come in two different varieties.
The first is a set of the four 7″ Turtles in a box based on the movie’s VHS case. They come with weapons, alternate hands, alternate headband knots (neat) and, somehow, more articulation than their 1/4 scale cousins.
The set is limited to 5000 pieces and will run you $125. Pre-orders are open June 6-8 for those of us who can’t make it to the show.
The other option is a deluxe set that includes a street scene diorama.
This version is limited to 2000 pieces and will cost $250.
NECA assures us that the street scene will be available at retail, minus the TMNT-specific elements.
