With Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel hitting theatres in a little over six months, it’s time for the promotion to begin. While the first full-length trailer is set to run with The Hobbit next week, today we get to see a new poster via the Dark Knight Rises Facebook page. And it is awful.
Now, yes, we’ve seen this image of Cavill’s Superman in cuffs before. It was a brief shot in the Comic Con trailer, but to use it as a poster just seems like an odd choice. It’s quite possibly the least iconic way to portray the character and (while I’m not writing off the movie because of it) it smacks of a fundamental misunderstanding of the property.
What do you guys think? Am I just reading too much into what was meant to be an intriguing image?
