There hasn’t been a lot of news about the Danger Mouse reboot since we told you about it last year, but we’ve got something big for you now. CBBC has just released a trailer with the first footage of the new series.
I am excited for this. The animation looks great, the excellent theme song is still mostly intact and the humor exactly as silly as you’d hoped. Oh, and he fights a goddamn Sharktopus!
In a related story, it was announced that Game of Thrones‘ Lena Headey and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver‘s John Oliver have joined the cast as U.S. Secret Agent Jeopardy Mouse and mad scientist/wolf Dr. Augustus P. Crumhorn III, respectively. And following Oliver’s casting I’d be remiss if I didn’t add this.
The new Danger Mouse will debut in the UK on CBBC in the fall, while American kids (and nostalgic adults) will have to wait until Netflix gets it next spring.
