Warren Ellis’ classic series Global Frequency might be making the jump to TV. Again.
The comic, about a secret organization dedicated to protecting the world by calling on the foremost experts in the field of that particular threat, is being developed for Fox by Jerry Bruckheimer (of CSI and roughly half the blockbusters you’ve ever seen). Farscape and Defiance creator Rockne S. O’Bannon will be handling showrunner duties on the series, which has a pilot production commitment, meaning that no matter what happens a pilot will be filmed (and likely leaked onto the internet).
The previous attempt to bring Global Frequency to life reached massive cult status after its pilot made its way online, becoming known as the most popular show to never air. One hopes they can again cast someone as perfect as Michelle Forbes.
