I have no idea how there’s movement on a Metal Men film before so many A- (and let’s be honest, B-) list DC characters, but I’m sure as hell not going to complain. If that’s the movie Warner Bros wants to make, you will not find any resistance here.

According to Vulture, Barry Sonnenfeld (most recently of Men in Black 3) is attached to direct. This is bit conflicting, as Sonnenfeld’s resume is hit or miss to say the least. Yes, he directed the Men in Black and Addams Family films and the live action Tick pilot which would make him seem like a good fit, however he also made Wild Wild West and RV. So, who knows.

But I’m going to keep my hopes up. I love the Metal Men, they’re so much fun and they’d look fantastic on screen.

Well, since it’s a new comic book movie announcement, it’s obviously fan-casting time. Who would you like to see play our elemental heroes? If it were up to me, I’d go with John Barrowman as Gold, Sonnenfeld-mainstay Patrick Warburton as Lead, Isla Fisher as Platinum, Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson as Iron, Stephen Colbert as Dr. Magnus, Marc Maron as Mercury and Michael Cera as Tin.
