So far all the promotion for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has largely centered on how different it is from the other superhero movies you’ve seen before. This has been a tactic that’s worked well for the film, building a decent buzz, but with the release only about six short weeks away it’s probably time to sway the more casual audience who’d rather see a more traditional trailer. They’d like to see a trailer with some plot and some focus on the lead, like the one released in the UK today.
Given the way director James Gunn and the entire cast have talked about the film and how well all the footage fit with the more fun vibe of the previous trailers (and how awkwardly it fits here), it almost feels like this is one of those fan-made videos where a film is recut into a different genre

It’s enough to make you wonder if the stuff at the end with Rocket is a subtle message from the editors to their bosses.
