Rocksteady Announces BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT

It seems like only yesterday that WB Montreal’s Batman: Arkham Origins was released to mixed reviews, and yet today comes word that the next chapter in the Arkham series will be hitting stores before the end of the year. And this time, original game developer Rocksteady is back.

Accoriding to Game Informer, Batman: Arkham Knight is set in a new, much larger section of Gotham than what we saw in Arkham City, designed to be a bit less claustrophobic than previous games to allow for a new game mechanic. Yes, this time you’ll be able to drive the Batmoble.

The description at Game.co.uk promises that Batman will face “the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever.”

Rocksteady says only that the game will be out later this year, though GameStop has it available for preorder with release date of October 14. If you pre-order you get to play as Harley Quinn, which, admittedly, sounds pretty fun. Arkham Knight‘s only coming out on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. Could this be the game that sells the next gen systems to the hold-outs? There are a lot of Arkham fans.
