Oh, me of too-much faith. Earlier this year it looked like, after years upon years of development hell that Robert Rodriguez was finally going to get his adaptation of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For in front of cameras (and put it in theatres by the end of this year). At the time, even I was cautiously optimistic.
It’s now June and it hasn’t begun filming. This is a fact Rodriguez appears to have only just become aware of as he’s announced the film’s release is being pushed back from October 4, 2013 to August 22, 2014. That’s a ten-month delay guys, on a movie that was announced in 2005.
At this point he should just push it back again, to April of 2015 for the 10th anniversary of the first film.
That or just admit that this thing is never getting made and give up.
