It’s the news we all knew was coming, even though we weren’t quite sure when. Warner Bros has announced that Zack Snyder’s next film after Batman vs Superman will be Justice League.
Via the Wall Street Journal, Warner Bros. president of worldwide production Greg Silverman, said, “It will be a further expansion of this universe. Superman vs Batman will lead into Justice League,” essentially making the film less of sequel to last year’s Man of Steel and more a prequel to 2018’s Justice League. Which, if we’re being honest, we all kind of knew, right?
They’re quick to remind us all that a Wonder Woman film is not coming any time soon, but it’s also not off the table. “[A Wonder Woman film] is our hope,” said Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing. “With the right script, that could be viable. The world is ready for her.”
Then why don’t you give her a movie? If she does get a solo movie, it wouldn’t be until at least 2020.
As an aside, The Wrap is reporting that Ben Affleck’s friend (and co-Oscar winner) Matt Damon is rumored to be up for Aquaman in Justice League (and a possible cameo in BvS), though Jason Momoa has also been rumored for the same role so who the knows and they’re both rumors anyway, so do they even matter at this point?
