No one knows exactly what Mark Millar’s role as consultant to Fox’s Marvel movies entails, but so far it seems to mainly consist of being their Hype Man ala Public Enemy-era Flava Flav. It’s in that capacity that he spoke to SFX magazine for the issue coming out this week.
In the interview Millar revealed plans for Fox’s two Marvel franchises to cross over at some point. When asked if the X-men films and the rebooted Fantastic Four film would share a universe, he gave the following answer.
“Without question I think you have to see some of these guys showing up in each other’s movies. I think the most exciting thing in superhero movies, until The Avengers came along, was when Nick Fury showed up in Iron Man. Even though it was a guy with an eye patch it was really cool – and I expect we will see more of that.”
While all logic would dictate that the most rational way to connect the films would be through Franklin Richards, the mutant son of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, it’s far more likely that’s we’ll see a Wolverine cameo.
If it happens at all.
